I was so very sad to learn of 'Deacon Sam's' passing. I was in his CCD classes while I attended Woodrow Wilson High School in the early 1960's. He was always so kind to me then, and later whenever my Mom and I would see him in church, he would greet us with a smile and a handshake, and had a wonderful sense of humor. My sincere condolences to his family.
