Patsy Trell Jr. Obituary

Poland – Patsy M. “Pat” Trell Jr., 89, of Poland, made his transition to his heavenly home on Tuesday morning April 2, 2024.

He was born October 10, 1934 in Youngstown, the son of Patsy M. Sr. and Mary (Christy) Trell and was a lifelong area resident.

Pat was a 1952 graduate of East High School where he was proud to be a “Golden Bear’. Following graduation, Pat served in the United States Army where he earned the rank of specialist and was awarded the following decorations for his service to our country: the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. Pat earned an Honorable Discharge on October 31, 1961 and upon his return, he attended Youngstown College where he earned his bachelor’s degree in education. Pat entered the workforce following his passion for education as a teacher with the Youngstown City School System for over 30 years until his retirement in 1989. During his teaching career, Pat earned his master’s degree in education from Kent State University. Even though Pat was retired he enjoyed staying busy and active, so he found employment as a salesman for Vath Audio Visuals and retired completely in 2002.

He was a proud member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica and the Teachers Union.

Pat will always be remembered for his devotion to his wife and family along with the way he made them the center of his life. He enjoyed spending time with them and never missed any of their activities and events. He will also be remembered for his smile, kindness, and generosity.

Pat leaves behind to hold onto his precious memories the love of his life, his wife of over 66 years the former Jeanette Stevens whom he married June 29, 1957, his three children, Mark (Julianne) Trell of Raleigh, North Carolina, Michael (Angel) Trell of Boardman and Lynn Trell of Las Vegas, Nevada, his cherished grandchildren Alexis, Anya, Declan and Maddy and his great-granddaughter Ava, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides his parents, Pat was preceded in death by twin baby children Alan and Allison, his beloved granddaughter Erin Trell, his three brothers William, Albert and Dr. Eugene Trell and two sisters Rosemary McKinstry and Eileen Trell.
