Poland: There was a Mass of Christian Burial held on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Saint Dominic Church with Fr. Peter Totleben, O.P. officiating for Angeline M. Poidmore, 91, who died Sunday afternoon, April 29, 2018 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Boardman Campus.
Angeline will be remembered for her fierce devotion to family and her feisty spirit.
She was born August 2, 1926 in Youngstown, the daughter of the late Joseph and Jennie (Cafiso) Poidmore.
Angeline graduated from The Rayen School and was a lifelong area resident of Youngstown.
Angeline first worked at the family owned Poidmore Grocery and later for Sears Roebuck. She cut her career short in order to dedicate herself, along with her sister Nellie, to care for their mother Jennie until her death.
Angeline had many passions throughout her life. She enjoyed dancing at Elms Ballroom and Idora Park and listening to bid band music.
Angeline is survived by nieces and nephews Janina Schettino, Marie (Nick) Pupino, Frank (Barbara) DiGiacomo, John Scaramuzzino, Marion (David) Philibin and Marylin (Robert) Yankes along with many great nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Angeline was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary (Sam) DiGiacomo, Nellie Poidmore, and Lena (Carmen) Scaramuzzino; two brothers, Frank Poidmore and Sam (Frances) Poidmore, a nephew, Robert Schettino and two nieces Josephine DeNiro and Dolores Scaramuzzino.
Per Angeline request there were no calling hours.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to Saint Dominic Parish, 77 E. Lucius Avenue, Youngstown, Ohio 44507 in memory of Angeline.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street in Boardman (new location).
