Michael J Cariglio Jr. officiating, preceded by a 2:00 pm prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, Boardman, for Eda Constantino, 89, who passed away Sunday morning after a brief illness at Mercy Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio.
Eda will always be loved and remembered by her family and friends. From her delicious home cooking and Sunday dinners, to her dedication to her children, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren, she was the matriarch of the family and her legacy will live on through the many traditions she created for her family.
She was born November 12, 1928, in Youngstown, the daughter of Anthony and Josephine Donofrio.
As a child, Eda was a proud member of the Smokey Hollow neighborhood in Youngstown, Ohio. Eda was always a hard and dedicated worker who was employed at Lustig’s Shoe Store in Youngstown and most recently at Lazazzera Italian foods (Cornersburg Italian Specialties) for 20 plus years.
Eda was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica and the Bagnolese Italian Woman’s Club of Youngstown, Ohio.
Her hobbies included baking, cooking, and sharing food with family, friends, and neighbors. If you knew Eda, you likely share fond memories of her delicious Italian cooking and cherry cheesecake. Her recipes will be passed on fondly to her children and grandchildren.
Her husband, Henry Constantino whom she was married to for over 63 years passed away on December 12, 2011.
Eda will be greatly missed by her daughter, Sharon (John) Cycyk; son Darren (Kay) Constantino; six grandchildren, Jason (Stephanie) Cuddy, Jessica (Justin) Hurdley, John (Samantha) and Anthony (Allison) Cycyk, Ben and Peter Reese; and great-grandchildren Jack and Henry Hurdley, Avalon Cycyk, Luccia Cycyk, Sterling and Kerrington Cuddy. Her great-grandchildren will forever miss their GG. She will be greatly missed by her brother, Rudy Donofrio, and sister, Rose Pugliese.
Besides her parents and husband, Eda was preceded in death by a daughter and son-in-law Karen (Robert) Cuddy and her brothers, Albert and Vito Donofrio.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman, in which family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 from 12:00 pm to 1:55 pm.
A dinner will be provided at Palermo Banquet Center, 394 Tenney Ave., Campbell, Ohio from 4 to 8 p.m. and all are encouraged to attend. If you are unable to attend the mass or calling hours, please, under Eda’s wishes, attend the dinner and enjoy a meal amongst family and friends.
