Campbell – Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, with Father Steve Denas officiating, for John Michael Haralambis, 78, of Campbell, who peacefully passed away on Tuesday afternoon, November 13, 2018 with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.
John was born December 8, 1939 in Astypalea, Greece, the son of Michael and Maria (Lambrinos) Haralambis. He came to the United States and moved to Campbell in 1967 and was extremely proud to become a United States Citizen in 1977.
John worked for various painting contractors working all over the United States painting bridges.
John was a member of Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church and the Painters Union 476.
John had many passions throughout his life. He enjoyed traveling and every year would make a trip back to Greece and visit family and friends. He also enjoyed swimming in the ocean, going to Casino’s play the slots, card games with his friends and working in his garden. He was an avid Pittsburg Steelers fan and was an excellent cook.
He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife the former Edith “Edie” Curtis, two sisters-in-law Claire Haralambis and Maribeth Curtis, two brothers -in-law Robert (Jenna) Curtis and Gary (Carrie) Curtis along with many nieces and nephews in the United States and in Greece. He also leaves his two nephews who were like his sons Michael Haralambis and Bobby Curtis and Goddaughter Marie Haralambis.
Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by 5 brothers Manuel, George, Nick, Gus and Jack Haralambis, his father and mother-in-law Roy (Irene) Curtis and a brother-in-law Billy Curtis.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:55 a.m. at Archangel Michael Greek Orthodox Church, 401 12th Street, Campbell.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
Burial will take place at Archangel Michael Orthodox Cemetery.

John’s family would like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of the 7th Floor at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown, Dr. Maria Miklowski and the Cleveland Clinic G91and also to Hospice of The Valley for all the care and compassion shown to John throughout this difficult time.
