Austintown - There will be a Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial held on Saturday, July 14, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian

Rd., Youngstown. Chorbishop Michael Kail as celebrant and Chorbishop Anthony Spinosa con-celebrating for Maoune El Hayek Mikhael, 90, of Austintown, who passed away peacefully early Wednesday morning, July 4, 2018 with her loving family by her side.

She will always be loved and remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.

Maoune was born September 14, 1927 in Biji, Lebanon the daughter of Raji and Moura (Hanna Lebanon) El Hayek. Beginning in 1978 Maoune came to the United States and then she would make many trips back and forth to Lebanon until the passing of her beloved husband Salim in 2005. Upon his passing she then decided to reside in the United States to be close to her family and help raise her grandchildren.

Maoune was a true homemaker and loved watching her family grow. She was an excellent cook and helped her daughter at the Phoencian Grill for the last 11 years. Her family was most important and the center of her life especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maoune lead by example teaching them how to be kind and generous to all. 

 Her husband Salim Mikhael whom she married December 29, 1949 died June 20, 2005.

She leaves behind to hold onto her precious memoires her three children Sami (Rosalba) Mikhael of Connecticut, Samia (Ghassan) Rajeh of Austintown and Samira Timarko of Canfield, five grandchildren Jeanpierre (Jade) Mikhael, Salim (Chrystal) Mikhael and Samuela (Zack) Quindazzi all of Connecticut, Salma (Matt) Hallett of Austintown and Nawal Rajeh of Washington DC, eight great grandchildren Layla, Matteo, Yazmine, Sami Jr., Daniel, Mikhael, Veronica and John and four sisters Adelle Maroun, Nohad (John) Nouaimeh, Ramza El Hayek and Takla El Hayek.

Besides her parents and husband, Maoune was preceded in death by a sister Mountaha Dayaa.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, July 13, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., (new location) where the Prayers of Incense Prayer Service will take place at 6:30 pm. Friends and family may also pay respects on Saturday morning, July 14, 2018 from 9:00 am until 9:45 am at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian Rd., Youngstown.

Entombment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield.
