Boardman: There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at Saint Rose Church, 48 E Main St., Girard, with the Very Rev. Msgr. John Zuraw officiating, for Marie Antoinette (Dundee) Carbon, 90, of Youngstown, who passed away late Saturday evening, October 6, 2018 with her loving family by her side.
Marie will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother sister and friend.
She was born February 10, 1928 in Youngstown, the daughter of Joseph and Minnie (Ford) Dundee and was a lifelong area resident.
Marie was a graduate of East High School and a proud homemaker. She began her career working in the meat department at A & P Grocery Store, followed by working in the Lab at Northside Hospital and was then the office manager for Dr. Yousiff Sethi.
Marie had many passions throughout her life. She enjoyed cooking, baking and traveling on cruises with her husband. Marie was extremely proud of her family and loved attending her granddaughters’ dances and grandsons sporting events. Marie was also a talented singer and was a member of the Three Sharps and a Flat singing group back in the 1950’s.
Her husband of over 67 years John J. Carbon Sr. whom she married June 3, 1950 at St. Dominic Church passed away October 17, 2017.
Marie leaves behind to hold onto her precious memories, her two sons, John (Donna) Carbon, Jr. of Canfield and Bob (Diane) Carbon of Boardman; five grandchildren, Maria Carbon, John (Rachel) Carbon, Joseph (Alyssa) Carbon, Bobby Carbon, Marissa (Jonathan) Pugh; seven great grandchildren Vinny, Grace, Rosie, Elli, Johnny, Joey and Giovanni and a sister Katherine Wolf of Boardman.
Besides her parents and husband, Marie is preceded in death by two brothers, Nick Dundee and Frank “Hutch” Dundee.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman and on Wednesday morning, October 10, 2018 from 10:30 to 10:55 am at St. Rose Church, Girard.
Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Austintown.
Marie’s family would like to extend their sincere gratitude and thanks to each and every member of the Humility House and Hospice of The Valley for their professionalism, compassion, care, and love throughout our two- and half-year journey. Their strength and encouragement gave us the strength we needed during our time there. Thank You.
