Michael Klein Obituary

Mineral Ridge – There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman with Father Richard Murphy officiating for Michael W. Klein, 73, of Mineral Ridge, who went to his heavenly home on Tuesday evening, December 18, 2018 with his family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.

Michael will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his humbleness, kindness and generosity.

He was born January 3, 1945, the son of Michael Jr., and Helen (Sander) Klein.

Michael graduated from East High School and attended Youngstown State University.

Michael was a proud United States Air Force Veteran serving from 1965 until he received his Honorable Discharge in 1969. He earned the rank of Sergeant and was a radar repairman serving three and half years in Germany. Michael was awarded the following decorations for his service to his country; the Air Force Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Service Medal and Air Force Longevity Service Award.   

In 1971 Michael started and developed the Biomedical Engineering Department at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center where he worked for 27 years. Michael also had his own business, the Bio Medical Instrument Services, servicing doctor’s office and small hospitals. Michael worked with Frank Lloyd Wright Group to build a modern Alzheimer’s Facility in Chardon, retiring in 2008.  

He served as the president of the Diocese of Youngstown Federal Credit Union for two years and was an advisor with the Trumbull County Joint Vocational School where he helped develop the Electronics Program.

Michael had many passions throughout his life. He enjoyed fishing, boating, traveling, fine dining and eating foods from all over the world. He also enjoyed many breakfasts with his friend Vincent Guerrieri. The most important thing to Michael was his family and good friends.

Michael leaves the love of his life, his wife the former Bonnie Tuchek whom he married October 25, 1969 at Immaculate Conception Church. He always said, “Bonnie was the best thing that ever happened to him”. He also leaves a son Michael W. II (Cathy) Klein, a daughter Kimberly (Greg) Morton, two granddaughters Grace and Hannah Klein, a brother Joseph (Lois) Klein, a sister Matilda Woodward and sisters-in-law Libby Klein and Brenda Klein.

Besides his parents Michael, was preceded in death by his brothers Robert, John and Rudy Klein and by his sister Mary Kathryn Klein. 

Family and friends may pay their respects Saturday, December 22, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
