Dinwiddie, Virginia - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio officiating for Robert F. Cencia, 63, of Dinwiddie, Virginia, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away on May 25, 2018 at his residence.
Robert will always be loved and remembered by his family and lifelong friends.
He was born January 2, 1955 in Youngstown the son of Armando and Adriana (Moroni) Cecia and was a resident of Canfield until 1994 when he moved to Virginia.
Robert was a 1973 graduate of Boardman High School. He was employed with Holiday Signs and Superior Signs in Chester, Virginia for over 23 years.
Robert had many passions throughout his life. He loved to play the drums, collect antiques and listen to music, especially to John Lennon and Eric Clapton. Robert had a talent of being able to build anything and enjoyed tinkering with cars and motorcycles.
Robert leaves behind to hold onto his precious memories two brothers Joseph (Patricia) Cencia of Boardman and Dino (Bo) Cencia of Poland, two nephews Dino Cencia and Christopher (Cathe) Cencia, two nieces Andrea (Andrew) Oliver and Kristine Cencia, a great niece Lila Oliver, a great nephew Will Oliver and two Step great nieces Gracie and Frances. He also will be greatly missed by his former wife and lifelong friend, Loretta Cencia and her children whom he helped raise Anna Krushinski and Del Smith.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Anthony Cencia.
Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 9:30 am until 9:55 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel Basilica, Youngstown
Burial will take place at Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman (new location).
