Roy Earl Hungerford Jr.

Las Vegas, Nevada – There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman, with Father Zachary Coulter officiating for Roy Earl Hungerford Jr., 69, of Las Vegas, formerly of Boardman, who passed away on Friday, October 12, 2018 with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer.

 Roy will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his strong work ethic, easy-going nature and fun-loving personality. 

He was born May 7, 1949 in Youngstown, the son of Roy Earl Sr. and Alice (McDermott) Hungerford. Roy lived in the Youngstown area most of his life until 2006 when he decided to move to Las Vegas to be closer to his family. 

Roy was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and worked for over 44 years as a bricklayer. He worked with BMI Company where he relined blast furnaces with fire brick in Pittsburgh, Cleveland, Chicago, Philadelphia, and West Virginia until his retirement.  He also spent much of his career as a mason building homes and business throughout the greater Youngstown area. 

He was a member of St. Luke Church along with the Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local #8 for 50 years. 

Roy had many passions throughout his life. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was most happy attending his children’s and grandchildren’s events.

He leaves behind to hold onto his precious memories his beloved wife of over 48 years, the former Rosemary Notareschi whom he married on November 29, 1969, his three children Christine (Roger) Self of Las Vegas, Nevada, Daniel (Lisa) Hungerford of Las Vegas, Nevada and Nicholas (Lacey) Hungerford of San Diego, California,  six grandchildren Samuel and Nicole Self and Benjamin, Thomas, Emily and Mason Hungerford, his mother Alice Hungerford of Poland, a sister Bonnie (Edward) Dolby of Poland, and two brothers Gary (Ellen) Hungerford of Las Vegas, Nevada and Ricky Hungerford of Boardman along with many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father Roy Earl Hungerford Sr.

 Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, October 19, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, October 20, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until 11:25 a.m. all at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market Street in Boardman.
