Yolanda (Pace) Ross

Youngstown – There will be a Mass of Chritsian Burial held on Monday, March 13, 2017 at 1:00 pm at St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, with Father John Keehner officiating, for Yolanda “Linda “ (Pace) Ross, 91, of Youngstown, who passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 8, 2017.

Yolanda, who was affectionately known as “Yola”, “Linda”, “Aunt Linda”, and “Grammy Ross” will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her gentle and caring personality.

She was born October 22, 1925 to Sylvester and Emilia (Lucente) Pace in Pratola Peligna, a Province of Abruzzi Italy.  She immigrated to the United States of America in 1936 and settled in Youngstown, Ohio. 

She was the wife of John E. Ross whom she married August 3, 1946 at St. Anthony’s Church.  During World War II, Yolanda worked for General Fireproofing. She later worked for Strouss and Kaufman where she retired in 1984.  She enjoyed watching her granddaughters play tennis, swimming and the piano.  Her family will lovingly remember her Italian traditions and will fondly miss her meatballs, wedding soup and fried dough.

Yolanda leaves her daughter Janine Grimm, son-in-law Dr. Richard Grimm, her beloved granddaughters Lauren Elizabeth and Nicole Brianne Grimm, her sister Lillian (Angelo) Pignatelli , brother Lawrence (Rosean) Pace, her sister-in-laws Florence Pace, Elma and Margot Ross.  She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews especially her nieces Jennifer Falbo, Andrea Elberty and Alyssa Armeni who were very dear to her.

She is preceded in death by her husband John who passed away September 5, 2004 and her brother Mario Pace. 

Friends may call on Monday, March 13, 2017 from 12:00 pm until 12:50 pm at St. Christine Church, 3165 S. Schenley Ave., Youngstown.

Entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman (new location).
