Youngstown - Albert "Bert" Bush, 65, of Youngstown, who passed away early Tuesday morning, August 18, 2015 at his residence. Bert will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his cantankerous ways and having to be a perfectionist with all he did. He was born August 29, 1949 in Youngstown, the son of Albert M. and Lois (Minotti) Bush and was a lifelong area resident. Bert was a 1967 graduate of Woodrow Wilson High School and was of the Catholic faith. He was employed for over 20 years as a security guard with Parker Hannifin and retired in 2014. Albert proudly served his county in the United States navy earning the rank of E-3 and was awarded the following decorations the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He was awarded an Honorable discharge on March 27, 1975 at the Naval Station, Norfolk, Virginia. Bert was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and the Mahoning Sportsman Club in Hillsville, Pa and a current member of the National American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, watching western movies and shows especially Bonanza along with the weather channel. He was also an avid history enthusiast and loved animals. He leaves behind to hold on to his precious memories his beloved wife of over 43 years the former Jolyn Pilla whom he married on July 1, 1972, two children Alison (Kevin) Huff of Berlin Center and Lee (Deborah Wright) Bush of Youngstown, three grandchildren Julianna and Lorelai Huff and Meredith Bush, his mother Lois Green-Slayton of Youngstown, and two sisters Linda (Joseph) Ventresco and Lois (John) Mullen along with his beloved dog Magic. Albert was preceded in death by his father and a step father William Green. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, August 24, 2015 from 9:00 am until 9:55 am at Lake Park cemetery Chapel, Youngstown. There will be a memorial service held on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 10:00 am at Lake Park Cemetery Chapel, 1459 E. Midlothian Blvd, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Robert Siffrin officiating followed by military honors provided by the great men and women of the United States Navy. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
