Las Vegas- There will be a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio officiating, preceded by a 9:15 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Anthony "Tony" Sertick, 71, formerly of Youngstown, who died at home on January 21, 2015. Tony will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his kind heart and smile. Tony was born December 23, 1943 in Youngstown, the son of Emil and Josephine (Rock) Sertick. He was nicknamed "Peck" by his father after former Cleveland Indian, Hal Peck. Tony attended St. Joseph's Elementary and graduated from Ursuline High School in 1962. He played little league for "Coca Cola." He worked for almost twenty-five years at General Fireproofing (GF) and served as the Financial Secretary for USW local #1617.He also bowled in the GF Bowling league and was a member of the company golf league. After GF closed, he worked for Warren Consolidated Industries at their Sinter Plant in Brier Hill. Upon relocating to Las Vegas in January 2005, he worked for Bally's Casinos and Manheim Car Auction before retiring in 2014. Tony loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and football, especially The Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He also enjoyed going to the rifle range and was a member of the NRA and the Desert Sportsman's Rifle Club. He was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Summerlin, Nevada. He leaves behind to cherish his memories his loving wife, JoAnn Sertick. a son, Anthony (Kara) Sertick, Jr. of Youngstown, a daughter, Andrea (Ivan) Bosnjak of Boardman, two stepchildren, who affectionately called him "Pops," Leonard (Lisa) Julian of Las Vegas and Lisa (Dan) Peterson of Youngstown, five grandchildren; Ivan, Alec and Ava Bosnjak, Michael Julian and Kara Kushaney, two sisters; Barbara Peachock of Boardman and MaryJo (John) Hernandis of Broadview Heights, a brother in law, Anthony Mastopietro and a host of extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant sister, Delores Ann Sertick, an infant brother Emil Sertick, a brother in law, Carl Peachock and a sister in law, Barbara Mastopietro. Friends may call from 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, January 29th at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market Street, Boardman. Entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
