Obituary

Youngstown - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio officiating, preceded by a 9:10 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Antoinette Rose Kovach, 88, of Youngstown, who passed away on Wednesday morning, August 29, 2012 with her loving family by her side. Antoinette will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends. She was born March 26, 1924 in Niles the daughter of Joseph and Julia (Matteo) Tauro and was a lifelong area resident. Antoinette retired from General Electric along with being a devoted homemaker which she took much pride in. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and its Mothers of Crucifix Society. Antoinette enjoyed playing BINGO, collecting angels, family gatherings, cooking, and baking her famous pies which will be deeply missed by all. She loved spending time her family especially her grandchildren. Her husband Peter Paul Kovach whom she married June 16, 1945 died May 30, 2002. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories a son Peter (Bernadette) Kovach of Boardman, a daughter Sharon (Harold) Thomas of Telford, Tennessee, four grandchildren Tony (Susan) Kovach, Michele Maillis, Nicole (Al) Maillis, and Danielle (Mike) Harris, nine great grandchildren Tala, Onawa, Stella, Victor, Haruola, Nikos, Benjamin, Elisa, and Mason, and a brother Jim (Eleanor) Tauro of Poland. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother Frank Tauro and two sisters Josephine Carella and Maria Owens. Friends may call on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, where the Mothers of Crucifix Society will hold a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown. In lieu of flowers material contributions can be made in Antoinette's name to Alzheimer's Association Greater East Ohio Chapter, 3695B Boardman Canfield Rd. Suite 301, Canfield Ohio 44406. Antoinette's family would like to especially thank Austinwoods Nursing Facility and staff for all the care and compassion shown to Antoinette during her stay with them and the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home for all their care and compassion shown to them during their time of loss.
