Youngstown - There will be a funeral service held on Sunday, September 16, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, with Pastor Kari Langford officiating for Barbara A. Mikesell, 74, of Youngstown, who passed away Wednesday afternoon, September 12, 2012 with her loving family by her side. Barbara will always be remembered and loved by family and friends for being an exceptional mother, grandmother, sister and homemaker. She was born September 8, 1938 in Youngstown the daughter of Michael and Julia (Nungradia) Korda. Barbara was a graduate of South High School, a member of Sts. Cyril & Methodius Church and volunteering at St. Elizabeth Hospital which brought her great joy socializing with all the people. . She enjoyed doing all kinds of crafts especially wreaths and could always be found at Pat Catan's Craft Centers along with going to Friday night football games watching the Boardman Spartans. Barbara would always root on her favorite teams the Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeyes. Barbara loved playing BINGO, cooking and baking her famous chicken and sour cream sauce, close pin cookies and pizzelles which will be dearly missed by all. She also loved Christmas which was her favorite holiday along with spending time her family especially her grandsons. Her husband Richard J. Mikesell whom she married August 29, 1959 died June 15, 2006. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories three sons William Richard Mikesell (Annette Lower) of Leetonia, James Allen (Angie) Mikesell and Richard J. (Janet) Mikesell both of Boardman, four grandchildren Jennifer Lynn, William Christopher, James Anthony, and Nash Mikesell, two brothers Rich (Gail) Korda of Weathersfield and Pete (Mickey) Korda of Austintown, a sister Kay (Jack) Danks of Boardman along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Friends may call on Sunday, September 16, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 3:50 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
