Youngstown - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, January 31, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Santa Rosa de Lima Church, 394 Tenney Ave., Campbell with Rev. Gerald DeLucia officiating, preceded by a 9:00 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Bernardina Sanchez, 87, of Youngstown, who passed away Wednesday evening, January 26, 2011.

Bernardina will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends.

She was born May 22, 1923 in Yabucoa, Puerto Rico the daughter of Juan and Placida (Diaz) Felix and moved to the Youngstown area in the early 1950's.

Bernardina was employed for over 15 years at Home Savings and Loan Bank in the maintance department along with being a homemaker.

She was a member and volunteer of OOCHA (Organization Civica Y Cultural Hispana Americana), the DAMA of the Sons of Borinquen, the ladies Society at Santa Rosa de Lima Church, and was awarded the Mother of the Year Award in 1994.

Bernardina loved sewing, knitting, cooking, baking, gardening, and was the Queen of Dominos.

Her husband of over 49 years Salome Sanchez whom she married February 19, 1948 died April 26, 1997.

She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories six children Carmen Seiler Charlotte, North Carolina, Reinaldo (Wildemina) Sanchez of Boardman, Rachel (Terry) Scott of Coco, Florida, Albert Sanchez and Paul Sanchez both of Youngstown, David (Vickie) Sanchez of Las Vegas, 13 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, three sisters Hipolita Morales, Modesta Laureano, Victoria Ortiz, and two brothers Valentin (Tinso) Felix and Luciano Felix.

Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother Callo Felix.

Friends may call on Sunday, January 30, 2011 from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.

Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery, Austintown.
