Youngstown - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Parish, St. Matthias Church, 915 Cornell St., Youngstown, with Rev. Msgr. Peter M. Polando officiating, preceded by a 9:30 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Betty Ford, 77, of Youngstown, who passed away early Saturday morning, February 9, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Betty was a 12 year cancer survivor. Betty will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her gift of listening, wonderful giving personality and the time that she had spent with her family. Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Mitchell was born on February 5, 1936 in Ridgway, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Daniel and Mabel (Schmiedel) Mitchell and moved to the Youngstown area in 1956. Betty was a member of St. Matthias Church, the 7th Ward Citizens Coalition and the Cochran Park Neighbors. She was a dog groomer, a member of the Kroger Price Patrol and enjoyed hauling with her husband. She loved antiques, having garage sales and sitting on her front porch with her husband Don and her cats. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories her husband of over 57 years Donald Ford whom she married on January 22, 1956, her children Janice (Tom) Rovnak of Youngstown, Cindy (Ron) Lovich of Edenburg, Pennsylvania, Don (Helen) Ford of Boardman, Cherie (Mark) Sefcik of Austintown, Robert (Mary) Ford of Boardman and David M. (Darla) Ford of Struthers, thirteen grandchildren Tommy (Melissa), Robert and Johnny Rovnak, Christine (Nick) Dean, Stephanie and Chas Kunovich, Robert Jr. and Joshua Ford, Nicole (Erik) Matson, Brooke Harris-Ford, Davia, Haley, and David Jr. Ford, eight step grandchildren, eight great grandchildren Thomas, Alex, Kaitlyn, Nathaniel Rovnak, twins Leah and Cora Dean just born on Betty's birthday and Sophia and Benjamin Matson, seven step great grandchildren, her twin brother Jack Mitchell of Los Angeles and a special niece Kathy (Bill) Penfield of Ridgway, Pennsylvania. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by a son John Ford, a sister Marion Fannin and three brothers Paul, Everett, and Raymond Mitchell. Friends may call on Monday, February 11, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown.
