Pacentro, L'Aquila, Italy - There was a Memorial Mass held on Saturday, November 26, 2011 with Father Philip Rogers officiating for Carlo Agostinelli, 96, of Pacentro, Italy, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away peacefully on November 7, 2011 in Italy. Carlo will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his always putting his family first and outgoing personality. He was born October 30, 1915 in Pacentro, L'Aquila, Italy, the son of Augostino and Maria Agostinelli. Carlo immigrated to Venezuela in 1950 and returned to Italy in 1956. He then returned to Venezuela in 1958 and back to Italy in 1961 and then later moved to the Youngstown area in 1963 where he lived until 1978 before returning home to Italy. He was employed in Venezuela, working in construction, and then was employed in the United States at Callex Company where he retired from. Carlo was a World War II, Italian Army Veteran for 6 years where he ended up as a Prisoner of War. He was a former member of the Pacentrano Club in Youngstown, and enjoyed gardening along with playing cards with his family and friends. The love of his life and wife the former Anna Battagline whom he married on May 23, 1938 died December 24, 1993. He leaves behind to hold on to his precious memories his children Luigi (Angela) Agostinelli of Canfield, Virginia Nepi of Pacentro, Italy, Anthony Agostinelli of Youngstown and Gemma Catalano of Boardman, 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, Carlo was preceded in death by a brother Paul Agostinelli and a sister Lucia Marchionda. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial took place over in Pacentro, Italy.
