She was a proud and active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, where she was a member of the Mothers of Crucifix Society along with the Senior Citizen's group. Carmel was a member of the Mahoning County Retired Teachers Association and the Catholic Collegians. Besides her parents, Carmel was preceded in death by a brother, John (Jean) Emilo whom she lived with for many years, and a great-nephew, Christopher McDanel. Friends may call on Thursday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, where the Mother's of Crucifix prayer service will be at 3:45 p.m. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown. The family would like to thank Dr. Aron Blecher and the staff on the 1300 floor at Beeghly Oaks, especially Alice and Barbara, for the loving care and compassion that they extended to Aunt Carmel.
