Youngstown - There will be a funeral service held on Monday, January 28, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Youngstown Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church, 155 Lansdowne Blvd., Youngstown with Pastor William Rodriguez officiating, for Carmen M. Martinez-Scacchetti, 86, of Youngstown, who passed away on Wednesday afternoon, January 23, 2013 with her loving family by her side. Carmen was born June 2, 1926 in Las Marias, Puerto Rico, the daughter of Manuel Cuevas and Maria Martinez and moved to the Youngstown area in 1957. She enjoyed being a proud homemaker and always put her family first. Carmen loved to cook for her family and they will miss all of her wonderful dishes along with all the time they spent together. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, playing cards and Domino's and had a great passion for music and dancing. Carmen was an active member of the Youngstown Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church. Her husband Vincent Scacchetti whom she married August 11, 1980 died June 14, 1989. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories five children I.C. "Tarzan" Cuevas of Florida, Mary Rivera with whom she made her home, Anna (Angel) Perez of Youngstown, Edwin Cardona of Youngstown, and Carmen (Jaime Jr.) Mendez of Las Vegas, Nevada, 21 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 25 great-great grandchildren, a sister Margie Cuevas of Puerto Rico and four brothers Victor (Hilda) Cuevas and Jose (Rosa) Cuevas both of Puerto Rico, Nelson (Nilda) Cuevas of New York and Ernesto (Alba) Cuevas of Texas. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two brothers Luis and Abraham Cuevas and three sisters Rosa, Blanca and Ada Cuevas. Friends may call today Sunday, January 27, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Monday, January 28, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. until 10: 50 a.m. all at Youngstown Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church, 155 Lansdowne Blvd., Youngstown. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Coitsville.
