Obituary

Florida - There will be a funeral service held on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, with Pastor Russ Adams officiating for Charles A. Luthe, 83, of Marco Island, Florida, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away early Friday morning June 15, 2012 with his loving family by his side. Charles affectionately known by his grandkids as "Papa" will always be remembered and loved for his tender yet playful personality that touched all his family and friends. He was born March 5, 1929 in Cleveland the son of Alfred and Elsa (Mahler) Luthe and then moved to the Youngstown area. Charles received his Bachelor and Masters Engineering Degrees from the General Motors Institute. He was employed with General Motors Company for over 40 years as an Engineer and retired in 1989. He worked in many of their plant locations. He enjoyed spending time with his family and photography along with making videos and DVD's from the pictures he took, which he was very good at doing. Charles was an Untied States Army Veteran of the Korean War and earned the rank of SP3. He was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal and received an Honorable Discharge on October 12, 1955. He leaves behind to hold on to his memories his wife the former Michele Dragomire whom he married July 4, 1992, three children Mark Luthe of Puerto Rico, Suzanne (Gary Osborn) Luthe of Springfield, Ohio, and Sandy (Bob) Stricko of Buffalo, New York, two step children Angela (Matthew) Belk of Atlanta, Georgia and Jake (Danielle) Dragomire of North Canton, four grandchildren and one step grandchild. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife the former Mary Hadevich. Friends may call on Friday, June 22, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday, June 23, 2012 from 10:30 a.m. until 10:55 a.m. all at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
