Canfield - Cheryl Love, 62, of Canfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on September 2, 1963, to Michael and Joanne Savko, Cheryl lived a life defined by kindness, generosity, and an unwavering devotion to those she loved. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome. Thoughtful, patient, and endlessly selfless, Cheryl saw the good in everyone. She was an exceptional listener, never quick to judge, and always willing to offer encouragement, a helping hand, or simply a warm smile. Her genuine warmth and infectious laugh left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Cheryl graduated from Austintown Fitch High School in 1981 and began her career at Metropolitan Bank in downtown Youngstown. She later moved to Scottsdale, Arizona, where she continued her education by studying Business and Marketing at Scottsdale Community College while working for Kroy Lettering Machines. After returning to Ohio, Cheryl chose to dedicate herself to raising her three daughters, a role she treasured above all else. She later returned to the workforce, spending the final 15 years of her career at Mercy Health – St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital as an Administrative Assistant and Resident Education Coordinator before retiring in 2024.

Throughout her life, Cheryl was actively involved in both Canfield Schools and St. Michael Parish, always eager to volunteer wherever she was needed. She loved staying active and embraced every opportunity to travel, hike, spend time on the boat, and create memories with those she loved. Above all, her greatest happiness came from being with her family.

Cheryl is survived by her devoted husband of 41 years, Rick Love; her daughters, Melissa (Jesse) Hutchinson, Dayna (Cody) Freeman, and Jennifer (Matt Loney) Love; her beloved grandchildren, Bennett and Aubrey Hutchinson; her mother, Joanne Savko; her sister, Karen Pecchia; her brother, Michael Savko; and many cherished extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Michael Savko.

Per Cheryl's wishes, a private Catholic service will be held for the immediate family. Those who knew and loved Cheryl are invited to celebrate her life and pay their respects at a casual memorial open house on Monday, August 3, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Highway House, 3000 South Raccoon Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Cheryl's honor may be made to the Colorectal Cancer Alliance to advance research and connect patients with new treatments, clinical trials, and resources that provide hope to families facing colorectal cancer. The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to Patriot Hospice for the compassion, dignity, and exceptional care they provided during Cheryl's final days.

Though her time with us was far too short, Cheryl filled it with a lifetime of love, generosity, and unforgettable memories. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
