Obituary

Youngstown - A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mt. Carmel, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio Jr. as celebrant, preceded by a 9:15 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Christine Mary (Palombo) "Tootsie" Guerrieri, 91, of Youngstown, passed away Friday October 17, 2014 surrounded by her family. Known as "Tootsie" by family and friends, she was born in Youngstown, Ohio April 27, 1923; the daughter of Patsy and Margaret (Santillo) Palombo and married Frank Guerrieri on November 23, 1946. Tootsie cherished loving and taking care of her family; always attentive and never without advice; making everyone feel special. She had a passion for baking and cooking; originating "Friday Pizza Day" and passing down the technique and love of homemade cooking and Italian traditions.Tootsie found delight in welcoming everyone to a seat at her kitchen table for conversation and a meal. She is survived by two brothers, Alex Palombo, Canfield and Felix (Joann) Palombo of Columbus, a sister Margaret (Dom) Greco of Arizona; eight children, Mary (James) Andric of Poland, Paul Guerrieri of Youngstown, Deborah (Tom) Patterson of Masury, James (Patti) Guerrieri of Delaware, David (Brenda) Guerrieri of Arizona, Diane Guerrieri of Youngstown, Joseph Guerrieri of Boardman and Robert Guerrieri of Arizona; 37 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren as well as many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Frank Guerrieri, a son Frank (Noonie) Guerrieri, a brother Louis Palombo and a sister Rachel Magyar. Friends may call on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Thursday, October 23, 2014 from 8:30 a.m. until 9:10 a.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home 4700 Market St., Boardman.
