Youngstown - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 10:00 am at St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman with Father Joseph Fata officiating, for Concetta Rose Soriano, 90, of Boardman, who passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning, November 3, 2015 with her loving family by her side. Concetta will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for being such a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was born April 8, 1925 in Youngstown, the daughter of Frank and Theresa (Ferranti) Cucciarre and was a lifelong area resident. Concetta was a 1943 Honors Graduate of East High School. She was a proud member of the Class Reunion Committee and St. Luke Church. Concetta was employed at Truscon Steel Company and Republic Hose Company. She met her beloved husband Ben and became a proud homemaker raising her children and caring for the all the family needs. Concetta retired after working for over 26 years for the Youngstown Board of Education. Concetta was an excellent cook and baker. Her family will miss all her wonderful Italian dishes, especially her sauce and meatballs and homemade apple pies along with all her Christmas decorations that she took so much pride in and made it feel like a winter wonderland. She enjoyed spending time with her family at their reunions, which were held every year at Geneva on the Lake and playing cards especially "500 bid". Christmas was her favorite holiday and she had such an eye for decorating Concetta leaves behind to hold on her precious memories her husband of over 62 years Ben S. Soriano whom she married on January 24, 1953, two children Ben M. (Joni) Soriano of Geneva and Diane (Tim) Rice, of Boardman, three grandchildren which were the apple of her eye Christopher Rice, Timothy Rice and Maria Soriano along with a sister Joann Foster of Boardman. Concetta was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Bridget Ivko and a brother Frank Cucciarre. Friends may call on Saturday, November 7, 2015 from 9:00 am until 9:55 am at St. Luke Church, 5235 South Ave., Boardman. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown.
