Poland - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, October 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio Jr. officiating, preceded by a 9:10 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Cosmo Iamurri, 90, who was carried off by angels to his Heavenly home early Thursday morning, October 4, 2012 with his loving family by his side. Cosmo will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his gentleness and kind heart. He was born February 7, 1922 in Boiano, Italy, the son of Pascuale "Patsy" and Cristina (Romana) Iamurri. He immigrated to the United States on January 11, 1969. Cosmo was an Italian Army Veteran of World War II and became a Prisoner of War in Italy. Upon his new life in America he worked at Wean United which became Youngstown Foundry for over 13 years. He then worked alongside his son Tony at their pizza shop which was Hill Top Pizza in New Castle. Cosmo was extremely proud of his Italian heritage and enjoyed dancing with his wife, gardening, canning from his garden, making homemade sausage and prosciutto, along with homemade wine which his beloved wife Angelina also enjoyed sipping on. He was a true patriarch and homemaker after retirement and would babysit all his grandchildren which brought him so much joy. His beloved wife and soul mate for over 71 years the former Angelina Chiovitti whom he married April 22, 1941 died May 19, 2012. He leaves behind to hold on to his precious memories three children Christina (Peppino) Cobucci of Italy, Tony (Margaret) Iamurri and Ida (Tony) Melia both of Poland, nine grandchildren Diane Sigurani, Cosmo (Jen) Iamurri, Carmelina Iamurri, Domenica (John) Latouf, Gio Melia, Tony Melia, Franka Cobucci, Angela (Antonio) Zicardi, and Mirella Cobucci, five great grandchildren Kenny and Luis Sigurani, Milania Woodward, Flavia and Andrea Zicardi, a brother Antonio Iamurri of Hubbard. Besides his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a son Pasquela Iamurri, and a brother Domenico Iamurri and two sisters Filomena Iamurri and Assunta Spina. Friends may call on Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Entombment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield.
