Domenico
Fabiilli
December 5, 1925 – February 23, 2025
Canfield - Domenico Fabiilli, 99, passed away peacefully on February 23 at The Inn at Old Saybrook in Columbiana.
Domenico was born in 1925 in Pacentro, Abruzzo, Italy, the son of Fiore and Maria Domenica (Ciccone) Fabiilli. He immigrated to the United States in 1949 with his wife Maria (Angelilli) and eventually planted roots in Youngstown, Ohio.
He brought to this country a tireless work ethic. He was employed at Youngstown Sheet and Tube (later LTV) until his retirement in 1978. He also mastered the craft of home construction and somehow managed to do both at the same time. He was extremely self-sufficient. While he thrived in the opportunities America provided, his love of the country of his birth never waivered. He loved a good meal, a good glass of wine, a good joke and Cleveland Indians baseball games.
Domenico is survived by his three children, Anna Maria (Dan), Nancy (Mike) and Dominic, four grandchildren, and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Maria, and brother Guido.
Per Domenico's wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.
He was laid to rest at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield.
Arrangements were entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi and Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
The family would like to thank the entire staff at The Inn at Ironwood, Briarfield Place and The Inn at Old Saybrook for providing such compassionate care, kindness and unrelenting patience along with Akeso Health who provided Domenico's hospice care.
Family suggests memorial contributions be made to Akeso Health Care and Hospice, 6600 Summit Drive, Canfield, OH 44505 or St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or stjude.org in memory of Domenico.
