Canfield - There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Russ Adams officiating for Eileen Finnie Bradford Gilbert, 86, of Canfield, who peacefully passed away on Saturday afternoon, February 28, 2015 at her residence. Eileen will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her smile and her great sense of humor. She was born July 4, 1928 in Youngstown, the daughter of Henry and Esther (Sussman) Wayne and moved to Canfield in 1959. Eileen enjoyed being a homemaker and worked as a patrolwoman with the Youngstown Police Department for over 30 years and retired in 1985. She was a 1946 graduate of South High School and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #28. Eileen owned and operated Care-A-Way Farms in Canfield which was a true passion for her, where she raised horses. Eileen enjoyed swimming and spending time with her family, but she especially loved to watch and feed the birds. She was a great cook and baker and her family will miss her famous rum cake, stuffed cabbage and matzo ball soup. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories her two children Wayne (Dorian) Finnie of Boardman and Candace Parks of Austintown, four grandchildren Lynette (Mark) Veauthier, Brad Parks, Steven (Cheryl) Finnie and Kara (Jim) Griffith, eight great grandchildren Christopher, Traci, Noah, Xavier, Kiera, Harrison, Bradley and Megan and a sister Peggy Laskey of Hermitage. Besides her parents Eileen was preceded in death by her first husband Chester William Bradford and her second husband Sidney Gilbert a granddaughter Traci Finnie, two sisters Matilda Bellman and Nettie Adler and a brother Albert Wayne. Friends may call on Saturday, March 7, 2015 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:50 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home 4700 Market St., Boardman.
