Boardman -There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Dr., Boardman, with Father Gerald DeLuciaofficiating, preceded by a 10:15 prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman for Elizabeth M. "Betty" Wagner, 96 of North Lima, formerly of Boardman, who passed away earlier Monday, June 10, 2013 at The Assumption Village. She was born June 1, 1917, in Youngstown, the daughter of Paul and Katherine (Ondrush) Sedzmak. Betty was employed as a baker at The Kress Company. She married her husband Herman A. Wagner on June 28, 1941 at Sacred Heart Church, Youngstown. She was most proud of being a homemaker and being an Air Force Officer's wife. As a homemaker, Betty always put her family first and they were the center of her life. They will miss here outstanding cooking and baking especially her famous kolachi and pizzelles as well as the many cards sent to them on special occasions. Betty and her husband, a career Air Force Officer lived at Langley Field, Virginia, Albrook Air Force Base, Panama Canal Zone, her favorite, Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas, Fort Knox, Louisville, Kentucky, Scott Air Force Base, Bellville, Illinois, and upon retirement moved back to Struthers, Ohio in 1959. She was a former member of St. Nicholas Church, Struthers and its Altar & Rosary Society and a current member of St. Charles Borromeo Church and the United States Air Force Wives Club. Betty enjoyed watching baseball especially the Atlanta Braves and Cleveland Indians. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories a daughter Deborah and her husband Steve Puhalla with whom she made her home, two grandchildren Stephen Wagner (Ann) Puhalla of Tallmadge, Ohio and Elizabeth (Michael J.) Profant of Hinckley, Ohio and three great grandchildren, Jackson and Owen Puhalla and Eliana Profant along with many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Her husband died May 17, 1993. Besides her parents and husband Betty was preceded in death by four brothers, an infant Stephen, Joseph, Paul and Andrew Sedzmak and two sisters Clara Robinson and Margaret Menold and the family's beloved Rottweiler, Max who was always at her side. Friends may call on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
