Obituary

Dublin - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mt. Carmel, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio Jr. as celebrant, preceded by a 9:10 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, Elizabeth "Liz" (DeMarte) Cavallaro, 99, of Dublin, formerly of Youngstown, passed away peacefully Sunday, February, 15, 2015 with her loving family by her side. Elizabeth "Liz" (DeMarte) Cavallaro was born in Youngstown, Ohio on April 30, 1915 to the late Paul and Josephine (Frizina) DeMarte. Liz attended Adams Grade School and Woodrow Wilson High School. Liz was a devout Catholic and a lifelong member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica in Youngstown. She, along with her parents, and four generations of the family were married and baptized there. Liz was a homemaker and loved being with and doing for her family and friends. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed crocheting and baking. Liz will be sadly missed by all. Her husband, Joseph Cavallaro, whom she married on September 12, 1931, died on January 8, 1995. Upon the death of her husband, Elizabeth moved to Dublin and resided with her son RJ. She leaves her five children; Clara (Charles) Peterson of North Carolina; MaryJo "Josephine" Baumeister of Hilliard, Ohio; Cathy Agresta of Howland, Ohio; Lisa (Sam) Thomas of Louisiana; and Ralph "RJ" Cavallaro of Dublin, Ohio with whom she made her home. She also leaves behind to cherish her memory twelve grandchildren: Alison (Peterson) Murbach-Hawkins, Joseph Peterson, Tiffany (Peterson) Morse, Cathi (Baumeister) Elliott, Debra (Baumeister) Crecelius, John Joseph (J) Baumeister, Lisa (Baumeister) Koch, Franki (Agresta) Sibberson, Anthony (A.J.) Agresta, Sam Thomas, Andy Thomas and Mary Thomas...as well as 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Joseph Cavallaro and son-in-law Pat Agresta. Friends may call on Friday, February 20, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home 4700 Market St., Boardman. Entombment will take place at Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown.
