Boardman - There will be a funeral service held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Christian Assembly Church, 5050 South Ave., with Pastor Jerry Hunt and pastor Michael Marino officiating, preceded by a 10:15 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Elizabeth "Betty" Marino, 85, of Boardman, who peacefully passed away Sunday evening January 12, 2014. Betty will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her love, strong faith in God and her giving personality. She was born August 26, 1928 in Ellwood City, Pennsylvania the daughter of Benjamin and Josephine (Chicabelli) Venturi and moved to the Youngstown area in 1950. Betty was a graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City. Besides being a wonderful homemaker and matriarch of her family, Betty was employed as head cashier for the A & P Grocery Store and LoBlaw's Grocery Store. She then worked at Home Savings and Loan in the Real Estate Owned Department until she became Secretary/Treasurer at Marino Construction Inc. Betty was a longtime active member of Christian Assembly Church where she played the organ for over 40 years, sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and was active with the Woman's Ministries of the church. She was so loved and respect by all the church community. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories her beloved husband of over 63 years David Marino whom she married on May 20, 1950, two children David M. Marino of Atlanta, Georgia and Michelle (Judge Scott) Hunter of Boardman, two grandchildren Jessica and Austin Barone and two sisters Martha Bohman of Sarasota, Florida and Evelyn Tomko Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers Louis, Fred, and Richard Venturi and three sisters Ida Capo, Ann Violante, and Margaret Sainto. The Marino family would like to thank the caregivers of Hampton Woods for the wonderful and loving care they gave to Betty. Friends may call on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Friday, January 17, 2014 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. all at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown. Family and friends may visit www.rossisantuccifh.com. to view this obituary, sign the guest book and send condolences to the Marino family.
