Obituary

Boardman - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Friday, November 18, 2011, 1:30 p.m. at St. Dominic Church, Youngstown, preceded by 1:00 p.m. prayer service at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Emilio DiCianno, 89, of Boardman, who passed away peacefully on Monday morning, November 14, 2011, with his loving family by his side. Emilio will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his smile and friendliness that he showed to everyone including strangers. He was born May 28, 1922 in San Pietro, Avellana, Italy, the son of Amico and Carolina (Mezzanotte) DiCianno. Emilio retired from the William B. Pollock Company as a crane operator where he worked for over 30 years. He was a World War II Italian Army Veteran where he was a Prisoner of War in Germany for 2 years. He was a member of St. Dominic Church, its Senior Citizens Group, the Royal Seniors and the Senior Citizens Group at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. He enjoyed going to dinners and the Italian Festivals in the area, traveling with his wife, gardening, and making wine, but he especially loved spending the holidays with his family and friends. His wife the former Philomena Frazzini whom he married August 26, 1950 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church died April 5, 1995. He leaves behind to hold on to his precious memories his two daughters Caroline and her husband Alex Elias of Canfield and Anna Marie and her husband Dan Michaels of Boardman, three grandchildren Kristen (Mark) Cirino of Evansville, Indiana, Michael Elias of Chicago, Illinois, and Nicholas Elias of Canfield, two great grandchildren Luca and Noah Cirino, a brother Antonio DiCianno and Teresa DiCianno both of Ely, Nevada, a niece Dr. Julie DiCianno of Albuquerque, New Mexico, and two nephews Dino DiCianno of Carson City, Nevada and Mario Frazzini of Austintown. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by an infant brother Luciano DiCianno. Friends may call on Friday, November 18, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Entombment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield.
