BOARDMAN-Evangelene Barbato,97 There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at 9:30 am. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio officiating, preceded by a 8:45 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Evangelene Barbato, 97, of Boardman, who passed away Thursday evening at her residence. She was born August 22, 1917 in Youngstown a daughter of John & Domenica Costarell and was a lifelong area resident. Evangeline graduated from South High School was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. She worked at General Fireproofing for many years and also worked in the cafeteria at several local schools. She loved cooking, baking , reading but most of all spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by her husband, Ralph Barbato Jr. whom she married May 23,1942, two days short of celebrating their 73rd wedding anniversary. She leaves behind to treasure her memories her two daughters, Donna Marie (Larry) Davis and Karen Billock both of Boardman; three grandchildren, Larry Davis III of Struthers, Christine (Patrick) Hoffman of Poland , James Billock Jr of Boardman ; two great-grandchildren, Kelsey Davis and Ethan Hoffman. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her son-in-law James Billock; her sister Mary Quatro and her three brothers, Frank, Anthony and Joseph Costarell .
