Canfield - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, October 22, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Charles Church with Father Michael Marchelli officiating, preceded by a 10:00 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Evelyn E. (Flask) Silvestri, 89, of Canfield, who passed away Wednesday afternoon, October 17, 2012 at the Assumption Village, North Lima. Evelyn will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her excellent cooking and baking skills. Her family always looked forward to her famous wedding soup, homemade pasta, cookies and kolachi. She was born February 18, 1923 in Youngstown the daughter of William and Grace (Carano) Flask and was a lifelong area resident. Evelyn attended Sacred Heart School and graduated from East High School in 1942. She worked at McKelvey's and Higbees Department Stores in the lines department for over 20 years until their closing. She was a member of St. Edward Church for many years prior to her moving to Canfield and is now a member of St. Charles Church. She had been a member of both St. Edward and St. Charles Bowling Leagues for many years. Evelyn enjoyed watching sports and caring for animals. Her husband Frank H. Silvestri whom she married February 10, 1945 died in 1968. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memoires her son William (Christine) Silvestri of Youngstown, a daughter Madelyn Sell of Boardman, two grandchildren Dr. Leslie (Dan) Murphy and Ryan (Shannon) Sell, five great grandchildren Luke, Janine and Cara Murphy, and Grant and Gabriella Sell, a daughter-in-law Dawn Silvestri-Hudzik, a son-in-law Terry Sell, two sisters Anna Rich and Phyllis Scheckelhoff, an aunt Rose Kucynski, along with several cousins, nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son Robert A. Silvestri and a brother George Flask. Friends may call on Sunday, October 21, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Entombment will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
