Obituary

Youngstown - There will be a Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian, Rd., Youngstown, with Chorbishop Michael Kail officiating for Florence (Nakley) Wansack, 87, of Youngstown, who passed away peacefully Wednesday December 23, 2014. She will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her kind and generous nature and big heart. Florence was born March 4, 1927 in Youngstown, the daughter of Dominic and Thecla (Coury) Nakley and was a lifelong area resident. She was a 1945 graduate of Ursuline High School and held several positions with the Federal Government in Civil Service. She was a devoted member of St. Maron Church, the Ladies Sodality, and the Green and Gold Club from Ursuline High School. Florence volunteered at Immaculate Conception Church for many years. She loved playing cards, traveling and bowling, where she was a member in the St. Maron Bowling League and the Catholic Bowling League. Florence had many talents throughout her life. She was a dance teacher and was also a great baker especially making all her famous pies which her family will miss so much. Her husband Matthew Wansack whom she married June 22, 1985 died November 18, 2007. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories three step children Diane (Paul) Chovan of Hubbard, Mary Beth (Michael) Bradley of Sharpsville, Pennsylvania and Mark (Lori) Wansack of West Middlesex, Pennsylvania, five step grandchildren Ryan (Olivia) Chovan, Patrick Chovan, Ashley Dillon, Maggie Wansack and Matthew Wansack, two step great grandchildren Ian and Oliver Chovan, two sisters Joann Nakley of Youngstown and Betty Roccanova of New York and a brother Thomas Nakley of Maryland. Besides her parents and husband, Florence was preceded in death by a brother Raymond Nakley Sr., and five sisters Helen Tombo, Ann Nakley, Catherine Nakley, Margaret Menaldi and Beatrice Cunning. Friends may also call on Monday December 29, 2014 from 9:30 am until 10:50 am at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian Rd., Youngstown. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at the Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
