Obituary

Columbiana - Georgia C. Bucci, 83, of Columbiana passed away peacefully Friday July 24, 2026, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family.

She was the daughter of Helen (Stanley) and Alden Mull, born on October 10, 1942, in Struthers Ohio. She attended North Lima High School.

Georgia and her husband Bill owned the Blue Furniture Barn and Pine Lake Golf Course in Salem during the 1980’s and early 90’s along with a Bed and Breakfast in downtown Columbiana, OH. Georgia was an avid dog lover, breeding, and raising both Rottweilers and Jack Russell Terriers on their farm in Greenford. During her free time, Georgia enjoyed showing Jack Russells at dog competitions, receiving many awards and ribbons.

She worked in retail sales until retiring in 2013, then they relocated to Naples, Florida to enjoy the sunshine. Georgia made many lifelong friends in their community and enjoyed teaching water aerobics. Georgia's heart was always in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Georgia, so when they were ready for a change, they moved to a mountain top cottage in Murphy, North Carolina but not far from her beloved Georgia. She was a gifted artist, honing her craft for many years in painting landscapes and animals, as well as photography. While in Murphy, she found wonderful friends at The Murphy Art Center (MAC), where she showcased her artwork and volunteered her time.

Wanting to be closer to family, Georgia and Bill moved back to Ohio, settling in Columbiana in 2025. Georgia enjoyed being able to see family and friends more often.

Georgia is survived by her husband Bill whom she married in 1983. Also, her daughters Carrie (Bob) Kandray, Tracy Mellott, Jody LaCava and Holly (Kurt) Routenberg and her son Bill (Jodi) Bucci. Her grandchildren Nathan, Stacie, Kaitlyn (Dennis), Victoria (Tyler), Taylor, Ethan, Lucy, William and Alexa. Her great-grandchildren, Maddox and Elyssia and her constant four-legged companion Maddy.

She was preceded in death by her first husband Richard (Dick) Mellott, her parents Helen and Alden, infant sister Tommy Joyce, her grandparents Donna and Tom Stanley, and her beloved Aunt Blanche and Uncle Don Mulholland, along with many relatives in Georgia.

Georgia will be laid to rest in the Stanley Family Cemetery in Blue Ridge Georgia. Per Georgia’s wishes, there will be no calling hours or services.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.

In honor of Georgia’s love for all animals, especially dogs, donations can be sent to local animal shelters in Georgia’s name.
