Obituary

Boardman - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mt. Carmel, Youngstown, with Father Kevin Peters as celebrant, preceded by a 9:10 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Geraldine A. "Geri" Marion, 74, of Boardman, who peacefully passed away on Friday afternoon, April 8, 2016 with her loving family by her side. Geri will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her outgoing and positive personality along with always trusting in God and her saying was "It's all in God's Hands". She was born July 18, 1941, the daughter of Richard and Anne (Vodhanel) Lovati and was a lifelong area resident. Geri was employed for over 26 years with Stadium Lincoln Mercury Car Dealership as a warranty clerk retiring in 2010. She was also a proud homemaker and in her spare time Geri would cater events and was known for her cooking, but especially for her baking. Her family which she would always put above everything else will dearly miss her famous kolache's. Geri was a 1959 graduate of East High School and was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, its festival committee the Ladies Bagnolesi Club, and the East High Girls Dinner Club. In her giving style Geri volunteered at St. Charles helping them with their fish dinners and then worked at the fish dinners at Cardinal Mooney High School. Geri had many passions throughout her life. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and taking vacations to Myrtle Beach. Geri leaves behind to hold onto her precious memories her husband of over 41 years Joseph Marion whom she married on April 5, 1975 at Our lady of Mount Carmel Church, two sons Joseph Marion of Boardman and James (Erin) Marion of Columbus, two grandchildren that were so precious to her Anna and Jimmy, a brother Emil Lovati of Long Beach, California, a sister Della (Richard) Plesac of Campbell, a brother-in-law Vince (Patty) Marion of Boardman and many nieces, nephews and friends. Geri was preceded in death by her parents. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, April 11, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home 4700 Market St., Boardman Entombment will take place at Green Haven Memorial Gardens, Canfield. In lieu of flowers material contributions may be made in Geri's name to Hospice House, 9803 Sharrott Rd., Poland, Ohio 44514.
