Youngstown - There will be a Home Going celebration on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St., Youngstown, with Pastor Kenneth Simon officiating for Harold Patrick Rankin, 67, of Youngstown, who passed away Saturday afternoon January 26, 2013 with his loving family by his side. Harold will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his kindness and generous heart. He was born September 17, 1945 in Youngstown, the son of Scott and Thelma (Scott) Rankin and was a lifelong area resident. Harold was a 1963 graduate of South High School and a member of New Bethel Baptist Church. He was employed for General Motors working in the Lordstown Plant. Harold had a passion for old school music along with an excellent voice. He always enjoyed socializing; playing cards especially Gin Rummy "500", and just being a family man. He leaves behind to hold on to his precious memories his children Cynthia (Neal) Sleppy of New Albany, Lenora Holder of Virginia Beach, William (Classie) Robinson of Youngstown, Harold (Monique) Robinson of Twinsburg and Anthony (Gina) Robinson of Illinois, the love of his life and mother to his children Joyce Jones, 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and his brothers and sisters Stanley Rankin of Rhode Island, Jane Jenkins of Youngstown, Dorothy Garay of Youngstown, Donald P. (Theil) Rankin of Maryland, Shirley Weatherall of Canfield, Leonard Rankin of Austintown, Clarence Rankin of Youngstown, Ronald Rankin of Youngstown and Larry (Donna) Rankin of Liberty. Besides his parents Harold was preceded in death by his two brothers and two sisters Frances Jones, Scott Rankin Jr., Jean Stewart and Felix Rankin. Friends may call on Saturday, February 2, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:50 a.m. at New Bethel Baptist Church, 1507 Hillman St., Youngstown. Burial will take place at Belmont Park Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
