Obituary

Youngstown - There will be a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, November 19, 2012, at 11:30 a.m. at St. Charles Church, 7345 Westview Dr. Boardman, with Father Philip Rogers officiating for Ida Marie DeNiro, 66, of Youngstown, who passed away early Thursday morning, November 15, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Youngstown. Ida will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends. She was born February 24, 1946, the daughter of James and Gilda (DiLoreto) Cera. Ida, also known with much affection as "Snookie" had the greatest smile and such an infectious personality. She was the sweetest, most patient, loving person and was so brave during her health battle. Ida served as an honorary "mom" to many Mooney and YSU football players and students. She was past President of the Barrea Club, honoring her ancestral homeland of Italy. She leaves behind to hold on to her precious memories her husband Mike of Youngstown, four children Kimo (Christl) DeNiro of Boardman, Terri (Scott) Maisel of Huntington Woods, Michigan, Karen (Tim) Devine of Strongsville, and Andrew (Kelly) DeNiro of Boardman, two sisters Bonnie Cera of Austintown and Teresa (Lee) Fiedler of Cumberland and scores of nephews, nieces, cousins, aunts and close friends. Ida also leaves her six beloved grandchildren who called her "Nonnie" and whom she doted on, Rocco DeNiro, Carlo DeNiro, Andrew Devine, Liliana Maisel, Adam Devine and Lauren Maisel. She was preceded in death by her parents. Friends may call on Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman and again on Monday morning, November 19, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until 11:25 a.m. at St. Charles Church, Boardman. .
