Youngstown - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio officiating, preceded by a 12:10 p.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Italo "Tony" Antonini, 78, of Youngstown, who passed away Thursday evening, November 10, 2011 with his loving family by his side. Italo always put his family first and will always be remembered and loved for his sense of tradition and passion he had for his Italian heritage. He was born July 26, 1933 in Tussillo, Province of L'Aquila (Abruzzo), Italy, and came to Maxwell, Pennsylvania in 1947 and then later moved to the Youngstown area in 1962. Italo was the son of Pasquale and Elisa (Marcotullio) Antonini. Italo was a steel worker for over 33 years and retired in 1986 from LTV Steel Company. He was a former member of the Local Steel Workers Union. He was a member of the Youngstown Morra League, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, its Vestibule Club, and Festival Committee. He volunteered for many events at the church and especially enjoyed working during the Festival with everyone. Italo enjoyed listening to Italian music, gardening, canning his famous peppers and oil, and playing morra and bocce with family and friends. He was an avid sports fan always rooting on his Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates either at his home or at the games where he would tailgate with his family. He leaves behind to hold on to his precious memories his beloved wife of over 49 years the former Brenda Brezovsky whom he married on January 20, 1962, two daughters Raylene Antonini and Lisa Antonini both of Youngstown, two sisters Norma Lettmann and Loretta (Bob) Phillips both of Gainesville, Virginia, two nephews Rob Lettmann and Mark (Jennifer) Lettmann and a great nephew Brennen Antonini Lettmann as well as other family and friends. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a son Anthony Joseph Antonini. Friends may call on Monday, November 14, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Greene County Memorial Park in Waynesburg, PA.
