Obituary

Indianapolis, Indiana - There was a private memorial service held on Monday, December 5, 2011 at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, with the Rev. Edward Noga officiating for James H. "Jim" Kahl, 76, of Indianapolis, Indiana, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away at his residence. Jim will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends. He was born February 16, 1935 the son of Jacob Francis and Agnes (Mitch) Kahl. Jim retired from US Steel Ohio Works in 1989 after working with them for over 39 years. Jim then worked after retirement as an usher at the Lucas Oil Stadium home of the Indianapolis Colts and he was one of their biggest fans. He was a United States Navy Veteran along with being in the Reserves for 6 years. He was a 1953 graduate of South High School, and a former member of St. Patrick Church in Youngstown. Jim enjoyed bowling and was in many leagues, watching TV and Movies especially The Andy Griffith Show, and exercising and working out. He leaves behind to hold on to his precious memories three sisters Jeanne Woodland of Youngstown, Judy (Pete) Dohar of Poland, and Betsy (Joseph) Campana of Brookfield, his nieces and nephews David (Paulette) Woodland of Youngstown, Daniel (Nancy) Woodland of Queen Creek, Arizona, John (Shawn) Woodland of Phoenix, Arizona, Kathleen (Jim) Stark of San Bernardino, California, Peter Dohar and Ron Dohar both of Youngstown, Jeanne (Kevin) Smith of Girard, Andrea (Ian) Corbett of Brooklyn, New York, Daniel Campana of Brookfield, Jennifer Campana of Denver, Colorado, and Michael Kahl of Cleveland, along with several great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Lois C. Kahl and a brother John R. Kahl. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will took place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown. In lieu of flowers material contributions may be made to St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44507, or a charity of the donor's choice.
