Salem - - There will be a Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian Rd., Youngstown, with Chorbishop Michael Kail officiating for James R. "Jim" Mastronarde, 67, of Salem, who peacefully passed away Monday evening, June 6, 2016 with his loving family by his side. Jim will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his many characteristics. He was known for his hard work ethic along with being the man that could tease you with his ridiculous sense of humor and show you his love in his own unique way. He was born September 7, 1948 in Youngstown, the son of Guy and Agnes (Scahill) Mastronarde and was a lifelong area resident. Jim was a graduate of Campbell Memorial High School and then earned his Bachelor's Degree in Education from Youngstown State University. He was a self-employed trucking contractor for over 30 years and was a member of St. Maron Church. Jim proudly served his country in United States Army and earned the rank of SP4. He received an Honorable Discharge on April 1, 1976. Jim had many passions throughout his life. He enjoyed collecting cars and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren. Jim leaves behind to hold onto his precious memoires his wife of over 40 years the former Marilyn Dohar whom he married on August 29, 1975, three children Roxanne (Bob) Molnar of Niles, James R. Mastronarde of Salem and Gregory M. Mastronarde of Columbus, five grandchildren whom he adored with all his heart Brayden, Kylee, Garrett, Travis, and Ashley, a sister Mary (Jeff) Schindler of Salem, two brothers Michael (Dolly) Mastronarde of Struthers and John (Eric Lee) Mastronarde of Oregon along with aunts and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Jim was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends may pay their respects on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., where the Prayers of Incense Prayer Service will take place at 6:45 pm., friends and family may also pay respects on Friday morning, June 10, 2016 from 9:00 am until 9:50 am at St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian Rd., Youngstown. Burial will take place at the Resurrection Cemetery, Austintown.
