Poland - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 12:30 pm at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Dr., Boardman, with Father Michael Marcelli officiating, for James R. "Jim" Kester, 75, of Poland, who passed away on Saturday afternoon, March 23, 2013. James will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends. He was born April 15 1937 in Youngstown, the son of Fred S. Sr. and Ethel M. (Keith) Kester. Jim graduated from South High School and served in the United States Navy Reserves for 13 years where he served on the USS Intrepid. He was employed with the Edward J. DeBartolo Corporation and helped open at the time the world's largest mall the Randall Park Mall near Cleveland. Jim then worked for the Middlefield Schools. Jim was a member of St. Charles Church Borromeo Parish and was a previous member of St. Casimir Church. He enjoyed working at the Maple Log Cabin in Burton Ohio. He also worked at the Great Geauga County Fair and loved working at the Geauga Historical Society. Jim loved NASCAR, walking, music, sports and doing all kinds of puzzles. He had a passion and love for traveling and has been to 75 countries and their capitals, all 50 states and their capitals, along with every providence of Canada and their capitals. He leaves his beloved wife of over 39 years Antoinette "Toni" Kester whom he married December 29, 1973. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Faye Kolesar and Jane Kunzer, a brother Fred Kester, and his beloved mother-in-law Ann. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 11:30 am until 12:20 pm at St. Charles Church, Boardman. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman.
