Obituary

Canfield - There will be a funeral service held on Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, with Pastor George Dunbar officiating for James Edward Viets, 38, of Canfield, who passed away suddenly on Saturday morning from an apparent heart attack while running in the Blue Ribbon Peace Race 10K for cancer awareness in Downtown Youngstown. James will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his reliability, outgoing personality and the way he was always there for you no matter what. He was born March 3, 1973 in Niles, Ohio the son of Joseph "Joe" Edward Sr. and Deborah (Croyle) Viets. James was a 1991 graduate of Maplewood High School, and the graduated from Truck Drivers Training School. He was employed as a truck driver with GEI Incorporated and Aim National Lease for the last 13 years. James was a United States Marine Veteran and earned the rank of Corporal. He enjoyed baking cakes and spending time with his family and friends. James was a true handy man and was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He leaves behind to hold on to his precious memories his beloved wife the former Angela Kripchak whom he married March 10, 2006, three children Tricia Marie Viets of Cortland, Kyle Alexander Johnson-Viets and Grace Angelica Viets both of Canfield, his parents Ed (Deb) Viets of Cortland, two brothers Joseph "Joe" Edward Jr. Meg) Viets and Frank (Melissa) Viets both of Arizona, a sister Jenifer (Steve) Harris of Cortland, paternal grandmother Venna Brezovsky and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Frances (Mable) Croyle, paternal grandfather James Viets and a nephew Joshua Harris. Friends may call on Wednesday, September 21, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday, September 22, 2011 from 9:00 a.m. until 9:20 a.m. all at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman where military honors will be observed by the great men of the Trumbull County American Legion.
