Cleveland - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mt. Carmel, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio Jr. as celebrant, preceded by a 9:10 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Joanne Marie (Restivo) Simari, 60, of Cleveland, formerly of Youngstown, who passed away peacefully, Tuesday morning, June 14, 2016 with her family by her side at her residence. Joanne was known by many for her intelligence, beauty, outgoing personality, creativity, keen fashion sense, wit, energy, selflessness, contagious laugh and - most of all - her deep love for, and commitment to, her family. Joanne was utterly devoted to the important relationships in her life - to her husband, her children, her granddaughter, her family, her dogs, and her friends in Youngstown and Cleveland. She was loved so much by her family as well as many others whose lives she touched. Joanne was born July 20, 1955 in Youngstown. The daughter of Dominic and Josephine (Cervello) Restivo, she was a resident in Youngstown until 1981 upon moving to Cleveland with her husband Joe. She was a 1973 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and was a member of St. Paschal Baylon Church in Cleveland. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 35 years Joseph Rocco Simari, whom she married on May 2, 1981 at St. Nicholas Church in Struthers, a son Joseph Dominic (Kelly) Simari, a daughter Calie Marie Simari, a granddaughter Cecilia Marie Simari, two brothers Joseph (Michele) Restivo and Alphonso (Charmaine) Restivo, a sister Donna (Nick) Marciano, a mother-in-law Eleanor Rose Simari, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, June 19, 2016 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St, Boardman. Entombment will take place at the Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
