Boardman - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 7345 Westview Dr., Boardman, for John M. Chick Jr. , 64, of Boardman, who passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, August 21, 2014. John will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his outgoing personality and ability to make friends with all he came in touch with. He was born May 18, 1950 in Youngstown, the son of John M. Sr. and Clara "Cicchi" Chick and lived in the Youngstown area for majority of his life. John was a 1968 graduate of Cardinal Mooney High School and continued his education by attending Penn Ohio Junior College and the Hospitality Institute, where he later became an instructor. John truly had a passion for tending bar and worked in numerous clubs and restaurants throughout the Mahoning Valley and Florida, including the Cave, the Moonraker, Palazzo's and the Breakers in West Palm Beach. He was an avid sports fan and loyally followed his favorite teams the Cleveland Browns, the New York Yankees and the Oakland Raiders. John enjoyed bowling, golfing, reading and was a music aficionado. He was a member of St. Charles Church. John leaves behind to hold on to his memories a sister Gina (James) Khoury of Los Angeles, California, his aunts Barbara (Mike) DeLucia and Sandra Rodkey, both of Youngstown, Phyllis (Bob) Tennant of North Carolina and Tina (Harry) Chick of Oregon along with a host of cousins and friends. Besides his parents, John was preceded in death by a sister, Carol Chick. Friends may call on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman and on Thursday, August 28, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church, Boardman.
