Canfield - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Monday, May 6, 2013, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael Church, Canfield, with Father Terrence Hazel officiating, for John M. Leone, 70, of Canfield, who peacefully entered eternal life on Friday, May 3, 2013 at his home. He was born September 10, 1942, in Youngstown, the son of Andy Daniel and Virginia Helen (Sandy) Leone. A second generation Italian-American, he began his education at Roosevelt Elementary School, and then attended East High School. John was a lifelong area resident who loved fishing, playing bocce, watching the Cleveland Indians, visiting with his friends at the Senior Independence Center and spending time with his family. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Youngstown where he had enjoyed being an altar server. He also attended St. Dominic Church in Youngstown and St. Michael Church in Canfield with his family. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his brother, Andy F. (Caroline) Leone of Canfield; his nieces and nephews, Christine (W. Brian) Berlin of Canfield, Anthony (Jennifer) Leone of Cincinnati, Catherine (Brian) Petrunia of Canfield, and Andrew (Stephanie) Leone of Hudson; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Samantha, Allison, Claire, William, Isabella and David. John was preceded in death by his parents. Family and friends may call from 9:00 a.m. until 9:55 a.m. at St. Michael Church, Canfield prior to John's funeral mass. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent De Paul, in care of St. Dominic Church, 77 East Lucius Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44507.
