Obituary

Poland - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, for Joseph Robert Cearfoss, 62, of Poland, who passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011 with his loving wife by his side. Joe will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his kindness, his big heart, unselfishness, and his love. He was born June 21, 1948, in Youngstown the son of Joseph E. and Marie (Seinknen) Cearfoss and was a lifelong area resident. Joe was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Church, the Sacred Heart Association and the Disabled Veterans Group. He was a United Sates Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and earned the rank of Army Specialist 4th. Class USAR. He was stationed in Panama City, and received the following decorations and citations; the Good Conduct Medal, the Sharpshooter Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. Joe enjoyed his cats Baby and Calvary, playing the Lotto, being in the outdoors, cooking, decorating and was a very giving man who gave a lot of charities. He especially loved spending time with, caring for and taking walks with his wife Kathy. He leaves behind to hold on to his memories his wife Kathy Marie whom he married July 3, 2009, a nephew Matthew, childhood friend Tommy Purucker of South Carolina, his beloved cats Baby and Calvary, and many uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends may call on Wednesday morning, May 4, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. until 10:20 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown. Entombment will take place at Calvary cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army servicemen. Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi &Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. In lieu of flowers material contributions may be made to Akron Baby and Children's Hospital, Cancer Unit, 1 Perkins Square, Akron, Ohio, 44308 in Joseph's memory.
