Austintown — Joseph Regis Christopher Sr., 57, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2026.
Joseph was born on September 2, 1968, the son of Patsy and Rhea (Polidori) Christopher, and was a lifelong resident of the area. He was a 1986 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School and also attended the Mahoning County Joint Vocational School, where he studied truck and diesel mechanics.
In 1992, Joseph began his career as a journeyman with Ironworkers Union Local 549 in Wheeling, West Virginia. He was a proud and dedicated member of Local 549 until 2005, forming lasting friendships and taking great pride in his work.
Joseph had a passion for working on old cars and building engines. He enjoyed spending time in the garage, always ready to lend a helping hand or share his knowledge with others.
He will be deeply missed not only by his family but also by the many friends who became family over the years. Joseph will be remembered for his steady presence, his love for those close to him, and the lasting impact he made on the lives of everyone who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who loved him.
Joseph is survived by his daughter, Amber (Anthony) Chuppa of Warren; his son, Joseph (Ashlee) Christopher Jr. of Niles; his two cherished grandchildren, Nevaeh Gray and Lyam Christopher; his sister, Niki (Brian Warchol) Feltner of Austintown; and two very close friends, Mike (Shannon) Magellan and Milad (Suzzie) Maalou. He also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Joseph's life will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Antioch Hall of St. Maron Church, 1555 S. Meridian Rd., Youngstown. Family and friends are invited to come and share their stories of Joseph.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi and Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman.
