Boardman - There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, Youngstown, with the Very Rev. Msgr. Michael J. Cariglio Jr. officiating. It will preceded by a 9:10 a.m. prayer service held at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman, for Joseph E. "Joe" Simari, 89, of Boardman, Ohio, who peacefully passed away Tuesday evening, August 19, 2014 with his loving family by his side. Joe will always be remembered and loved by his family and friends for his outgoing personality, smile, and ability to fix anything. He was born June 29, 1925 in Hillsville, Pennsylvania, the son of Rocco and Grace (Arena) Simari and moved to the Youngstown area in 1950. Joe was employed with Rockwell International as a Plant Engineer for over 31 years and retired in 1981. He was a former member of St. John the Baptist Church in Campbell and is a current member of St. Charles Borromeo Church in Boardman. Throughout Joe's life, he enjoyed bowling, traveling, working in his garden and spending time at "The Lake". Joe leaves behind to hold on to his precious memories, his beloved wife of over 65 years, the former Eleanor Napoli whom he married June 25, 1949, two sons Joseph (Joanne) Simari of Cleveland and Matthew (Renee) Simari of Boardman, four grandchildren Joe, Calie, Megan, and Matthew Simari, a sister Eleanor Matetich of Hermitage and a brother Gerald Simari of Hillsville. Friends may call Friday, August 22, 2014 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4700 Market St., Boardman. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
