Obituary

Youngstown – There will be a Mass of Christian Burial held on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, with Father Michael Swierz officiating, for Josephine (Petrarca) Bullano, 88, of Youngstown, who passed away Friday morning, January 13, 2017 after a long illness.

Josephine will always be remembered and loved by her family and friends for her sweet, kind and loving personality.

She was born May 4, 1928 in Youngstown, the daughter of Matteo and Josephine (Vullano) Petrarca and was a lifelong area resident.

Josephine was a 1946 graduate of Girard High School and was employed for over 40 years as a secretary with General Electric along with being a homemaker.

Josephine was an active member of St. Anthony of Padua Church where she was the secretary for many years and belonged to the Altar and Rosary Society.

Josephine had many passions throughout her life. She enjoyed playing Bingo and playing cards with her friends. She also enjoyed doing volunteer work at St. Elizabeth Hospital.

Her husband Sam Bullano whom she married in 1974 died in 1995.

Josephine leaves behind to hold on to her memories her nieces and nephews, Bill (Vickie) Bahny of Liberty, Estella Ring of Boardman, Dominic (Linda) Petrarca of Girard and Dr. Kenneth (Cheryl) Biros of Canal Fulton, a step-son Atty. Joseph (Leasley) Bullano of New Castle along with many great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Besides her parents and husband, Josephine was preceded in death by a brother Dominic Petrarca and two sisters Theresa Bahny and twin Mary Biros.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 from 9:00 am until 9:50 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown.

Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the professional care of the Rossi & Santucci Funeral Home, 4221 Market St., Boardman (new location).

In lieu of flowers material contributions may be made in Josephine's name to St. Anthony of Padua Church, 1125 Turin Ave., Youngstown, Ohio 44510 or to Harbor Light Hospice, 4531 Belmont Ave. Unit 9, Youngstown Ohio 44505.

On behalf of Josephine's family, they would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude and thanks to the entire staff of Greenbriar Nursing Facility along with Harbor Light Hospice for all the care and compassion shown to them and Josephine during her time with them.
